Minimal Knowledge Approach to Reasoning about Actions and Sensing

چکیده
We present an autoepistemic approach for rea soning about actions in the presence of incom plete information and sensing Speci cally we introduce a logical formalism that combines a very expressive logic of programs the modal mu calculus with a minimal knowledge modal ity We show that reasoning in such a formal ism can be done by integrating model checking for modal mu calculus and propositional infer ence This allows for exploiting existing model checking techniques and systems for sophisti cated forms of reasoning about actions without renouncing to deal with incomplete information about the dynamic system

Reasoning about Sensing Actions and Reactivity
This thesis focuses on the problem of reasoning about sensing actions and the relationship between action theory and reactive control. The first approach to reasoning about sensing actions is due to Moore1. He used the possible world semantics to represent knowledge and treated the accessible relation between world models as a fluent. Later, Hass proposed another way of formulating sensing acti...

متن کاملDescription Logic based Framework for Planning with Sensing Actions
In recent years there has been an attempt to reconcile the theoretical work done on reasoning about action with the realization of agents in particular mobile robots Such a eld of research has been characterized with the term Cognitive Robotics A mobile robot can indeed be regarded as an intelli gent agent that is designed both to achieve high level goals and to be able to promptly react and ad...
متن کاملReasoning About Knowledge and Action in an Epistemic Event Calculus
We present a generalization of classical-logic Event Calculus that facilitates reasoning about non-binary-valued fluents in domains with non-deterministic, triggered, concurrent, and possibly conflicting actions. We show how this framework may be used as a basis for a “possible-worlds” style approach to epistemic and causal reasoning in a narrative setting. In this framework an agent may gain k...
متن کاملINTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING
Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...
